GoodBrew was born out of a need for a better user experience regarding how people find locally crafted beer, organize it, share it among their friends, and a desire to promote local breweries and their craft.
This campaign is about raising money for three things; operational costs, growth, and paying off debt. So, no matter how much we make (or don't make), this app is still getting produced and in fact it's on its way through development as you read this.
But we can’t continue to run an app like this without money to help us cover basic costs in the mean time.
Search for locally brewed beer as well as craft beer from all over the United States. Search by style, specific beer, and brewery. See what your friends are drinking with your Social Feed and how they are interacting with different beers. On top of that every beer has a profile page, which can offer great information, a description from the brewer, any awards the beer has won, ABV, IBU, temperature, and appropriate glass. Brewers will also have their own profile pages, you will be able to see everything they carry, read about them, and see events that are coming up.
Your tastes are unique and people love so many different beers for so many different reasons. We felt the need to remove all barriers on how users have been forced to organize beer in the past. Now your lists can be as unique as the different beers themselves. Everything you ever drink will be recorded so you never have to remember what you had that one time in that one place. On top of this what good is it just to add a beer to a list if you can’t record why you liked or didn’t like it? Variety is one of the things that makes craft beer so great. With so many different beer types and tastes we noticed that a standard five star rating system tells only part of the story. Favoriting or disliking a beer is not enough. So with GoodBrew you can also Tagyour beers with the look, mouthfeel, smells, and of course tastes of that unique brew.
Think of GoodBrew as a micro social network, a network within networks. Most people enjoy hobbies with a particular group of friends, not everybody you’re friends with on Facebook may enjoy the same hobby. With GoodBrew instead of every friend you’re connected with being able to see everything you’re drinking, only the people who have the GoodBrew app, the group of friends you share a love of craft beer with, will see your activity and vice versa. On top of being able to see socially what your friends are drinking and what breweries they’re checking into, you’ll be able to Recommend them beers that you think they would like as well.
Imagine the ability to purchase a friend a beer at their favorite local brewery. For about the same money and at a fraction of the time as sending a Hallmark card (don't sue us) a good beer is the perfect gift for any occasion: birthday, anniversary, graduation.... awesome, lets celebrate with a beer. Lost your job, break up, dog died.... sorry bro, have one on me. With Buy a Friend a Beer you can do all this.
